Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Rwenzori National Park
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Entebbe/Kampala to Rwenzori National Park. Enjoy breathtaking countryside views before settling at a lodge near the park for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Nyakalengija to Nyabitaba Hut (2,651m)
Start the trek through dense rainforests, crossing rivers and encountering wildlife like blue monkeys. After 5-6 hours, reach Nyabitaba Hut for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Nyabitaba to John Matte Hut (3,505m)
Trek through the bamboo zone, navigating steep ridges and scenic bogs. Marvel at the breathtaking Bujuku River before reaching John Matte Hut for a night’s rest.
Day 4: John Matte to Bujuku Hut (3,962m)
Ascend to alpine zones, crossing giant lobelias and stunning glacial lakes. Arrive at Bujuku Hut with breathtaking views of Mount Baker, Speke, and Stanley.
Day 5: Bujuku to Elena Hut (4,541m) or Kitandara Hut
For climbers, ascend to Elena Hut, preparing for the final summit. Others trek to Kitandara for incredible valley views.
Day 6: Summit Margherita Peak (5,109m) & Descend
A challenging but rewarding climb to Uganda’s highest peak! After celebrating, descend back to Kitandara or Guy Yeoman Hut.
Day 7: Return & Departure
Descend to the base, concluding your 7 Days Rwenzori Mountain Tour with cherished memories before transferring back to Kampala/Entebbe.
